Thank you for your participation in the 2006 NRC Annual Meeting in Los Angeles, California! The focus for the conference was both timely and critical for all attendees to consider: the need to reflect on NRC’s rich traditions, embrace new directions, and the call to action.

The NRC Headquarters staff compiled the comments received from the Conference Evaluation form as well as attendees suggestions for future NRC Annual Meetings. These thoughts and comments not only help to shape the framework for next year’s meeting but also guide the conference planning team in assuring a diverse and pertinent conference program. We sincerely appreciate those who took the time to share their thoughts about the 2006 meeting.

Below are a few comments from the 2006 Conference Evaluations:

• Love the roundtables!
• Continue alternative formats – perhaps have additional early literacy topics, read aloud, classroom set up and practices
• Study groups were very interesting! Keep this feature!
• Definitely continue alternative sessions – those offered great discussion opportunities
• Great key speakers – provocative!
• I’d like for you to continue to organize evening activities
• Excellent speakers and solid research presentations
• Have visible signs for roundtables/study groups
• For new attendees an explanation of the formats (paper session, study group, symposium, etc) would have been great
• Best conference that I attended in several years
• Thanks for all the hard work to make a terrific conference!
