Permission to quote or reprint. Quotations of 500 words or longer or reproductions of any portion of a table, figure, etc. require written permission from the National Reading Conference and inclusion of proper credit to the organization. A fee may be charged for use of the material, and permission of the first author will be secured.

Photocopies. Individuals may photocopy single journal articles without permission for nonprofit, one-time classroom or library reserve use in educational institutions. Other nonprofit, educational copying, including repeated use of an individual article, must be registered with the Copyright Clearance Center, Academic Permissions Service, 222 Rosewood Drive, Danvers MA 09123. The fee is $1.25 per article, or any portion thereof, to be paid through the Center; the fee is waived for individual members of the National Reading Conference. Consent to photocopy does not extend to items identified as reprinted by permission of other publishers, nor to copying for general distribution, for advertising or promotion, for creating new works, or for resale, unless written permission is obtained from the National Reading Conference.
